QA: Why does God give Man the Ability to Choose? Can a Man Choose his own Destiny of Eternal Life or

God gives man the ability to choose because he is God. He is love and his very nature is not one of force. He wants us to choose wisely, while asking for his divine guidance. Yes, man chooses his own destiny. When man believes and accepts Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, he repents and convert his life. When he receives the gift of God, he chooses eternal life. When man denies the power of Jesus Christ, his choice is death. Jesus spoke, ”For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” In the bible, we learn of people who made decisions that decided their fate.

Judas betrayed Jesus. (Matthew 26:25, 47-48)

Lot’s wife looked back, when the angel had told them not to look back. (Genesis 19:17-26)

Ananias and Sapphire lied to the Holy Spirit. They could have kept their possessions or gave a portion. (Acts 8:27-39)

Rahab and her family were saved because she believed in the God of Israel. (Joshua 6:17)

The Philippian jailer accepted the words of Paul and was saved. (Acts 16:26-36)

There is no middle ground when it comes to our destiny. God knows the end because he is Sovereign, but the choice is ours still. (John 3:16; I Chronicles 29:11)
