"Because He Lives"

Matthew 6:33

When we first come to Jesus Christ, we don't fully understand the value of giving our lives over to him. We know that it is definitely something for our good. As we mature in him, we learn the depthness of what he did on Calvary. In him is a wonderful covering of his eternal love, hope, and peace. Our dependence in him becomes stronger as we experience his indwelling presence and his power in all matters. A spiritual bond is secured as we realize that our undeniable assurance in him is "Because He Lives".

The sermon in Matthew 6, spoken by Jesus, tells us not to worry. In it he relays the message that God knows our need for food, clothing and shelter. The fowls of the air and the lilies of the field were created for his pleasure. But none are as important as we are to God our heavenly Father. He doesn't want us to worry or to elevate anything above him. Instead we are to hold on to his promises. In heart, know that God will take care of everything that concerns us.

As we so faithfully trust in Jesus, we are thankful for investing in the kingdom of God. To invest in the kingdom is to put everything in his hands. "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto thee." When we trust in the will of God, we show faith. Faith is expressed in prayer, praise, acceptance of his word, and living everyday because we know that he is real. The kingdom of God is a solid investment. Its wealth cannot be measured. But everything that we do in faith is an investment in which our return will be provisions for life, protection, peace, forgiveness, and so much more. The much greater return on our investment in his kingdom will be the reward of an eternal life. So now more than ever continue to make sure your calling remains in Jesus Christ. Tell yourself "Because He Lives"!
