"In Your Fiery Furnace"

Writer: Path of Righteousness Church in ChristPath of Righteousness Church in Christ

God has given us his word so that we may grow in his knowledge. In the book of Daniel, there was Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, faithful servants to God. They were held captive in Babylon by king Nebuchadnezzar, a pagan king. The enemy is always watching. He has no power to know your thoughts, heal, or save. He uses illusions to draw you away from the faith of God.

The king had made an image of gold and invited all in the provinces to come to the dedication. At that time, he commanded all to fall down to the image when they heard the sounds of all kinds of music. Idol worship is actually a worship to Satan. The enemy is always watching to see where he can destroy. He threatens, indicating his lack of power. God loves and forgives. He does not force his will, but allows us to make the choice. When it was noticed that the three men did not worship the image, they were reported to the king. In your fiery furnace, you must go through it. It is given to learn from mistakes, to deeper your faith, and to become a witness to the only eternal God.

Remember, Satan will not win. Jesus Christ defeated him in life and death. So the three hebrew men did not fear death. God will always be victorious in your fiery furnace. Your fiery furnace is personal, something that hits you and bring you to the power of God. The enemies of the three men had reported that they did not worship the golden image as the king commanded. Satan will give you visuals, such as shining beautiful gold to persuade you. But you must remember that all glory is to God.

The three men responded in faith to the king, that God is able to deliver them from the burning fiery furnace. In your fiery furnace, God will bring you through and you will see how strong you are in the Lord. This same king that was so kind to them, was full of fury and gave command to turn up the furnace heat. They were cast in with all their clothes with no time to prepare. Time is not in our control. Your fiery furnace comes when you don't expect it. Always be ready to pray to the mighty God in heaven. Those that put them in the furnace were consumed by the heat. Your fiery furnace will affect the lives of those around either negatively or positively.

There were four men in the midst of the fire, with no hurt. God did not stop the heat from happening, he was with them! God is always with you. We do not suffer in faith. We have long-suffering, which means we are bound to God. He give us strength in anything that we go through. The enemy wants us to fail, to be in distress and to fear. In deliverances, you become witnesses just as the three hebrew men, to the power of God.

God has an end result that will always be for your good. The king gave a decree that if any one spoke against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego he would be cut in pieces. What Satan did for evil, God turned it to good. The king promoted them, but they knew of a greater reward, heaven. For that is when God will find us worthy to enter eternal life and say "Well done, good and faithful servant". The fiery furnace is scary, but he does not put on us no more than we can bear. In a forest fire, the ashes bring life because the forest begins a new growth. Just one person will come to the faith of Jesus Christ because you endured the heat of your fiery furnace. Stay strong and draw closer to him. He alone cares for our well being.
