Daniel exemplified the very essence of a life devoted to God. "Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him..." His personal security was secured in the living God. In his faith he loved, worshipped, and trusted in the power and wisdom of the living God. He allowed nothing to come between him and his God.
In Babylon, the presidents and the princes tried to find some fault in Daniel. They had the king to issue a decree that if anyone would ask a petition of any God or man, except for the king, he shall be cast into the den of lions. These men found that Daniel prayed three times. The king was upset with himself, when he heard about Daniel. But he had to follow his decree. A decree was a legal order that could not be broken.
Daniel had a very consistent and quality prayer life. He understood the importance of communing with God and trusted in his omnipresence. In prayer we give adoration, confession, thanksgiving, and supplication. It is our lifeline to the throne of God. The power of prayer keeps us aligned with the will of God concerning our life. It is his will that we pray and believe.
Daniel was confident in his personal security. His relationship with God was sure and unmovable. He believed in the presence of God in all things. He did not allow anything to separate him from his faith. Even the threat of death. Personal security is faith to overcome threats of danger, fear, doubt, and all else that would cause us not to rely on God. In faith, we embrace that God is all knowing, all loving, and all forgiving. It remains in tact by his word. "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."
The king had a restless night and in the morning made haste to go to the den of lions. though not a believer, the king had confidence in Daniel to believe that his God was able to deliver him. When the king arrived at the den, Daniel assured him that God sent his angel to shut the mouth of the lions. He was not hurt. The glory of God was witnessed by his enemies.
Faith in the living God will deliver us from anything. We must believe that with God all things are possible. Personal security is faith that must not waver. It is a admission of belief that is between the believer and God. No one can believe for you. Guard your faith by staying connected to his word. "Above all, taking the shield of faith, where with ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked." It is personal security in your faith, that will keep you, deliver you, and save you.
