QA: What is the true definition of Shield?

  1. If you want to talk about Shield in the noun form, it is a broad piece of metal or another suitable material, held by straps or a handle attached on one side, used as a protection against blows or missiles.

  2. If you want to talk about it in the verb form, it means to protect (someone or something) from a danger, risk, or unpleasant experience.

Today we depend on different people or things in order to get through our daily lives. For instance, a child would depend on its parents to be their protector and defender in a time of need. When we need to pay a bill we have to have money or take out a loan. But if you really take a look at the things we are dependable upon it can sometimes be weak or fall short. No matter how much you try to put your trust in something, it can never reach the level of your approval.

But when it comes to God, our Heavenly Father, he is our main Shield. A spiritual Shield. Whether you believe it or not, he is with us 24-7. And Jesus Christ is always pleading our cases. In Psalm 28:7 David wrote: “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.” Amen. This wondrous verse immediately claims God as the strongest shield. We ought to put all our trust in him day and night because without him we are nothing. And with him anything is possible because he is a God of possibilities.

So when you feel like you’re at a dead end, or you do not know how to handle a situation (any situation) just remember to call on Jesus! Remember this saying, “He may not come when you want it, but he’ll be there right on time!” Amen

God knows everything. Do not underestimate the great power of our Lord. He knows when, how, and what we should get before we even think about. So when you come across a situation and you think you are too weak to handle it, remember God! Call on Him and he will come to your rescue. He is our Shield!

God Bless you and have a blessed day!
