“The earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.” There are so many wonderful things about our heavenly Father. His presence is truly awesome. His mercies are everlasting. His love is unconditional. Simply, he is good all the time! There are times when he is taken for granted. He speaks to us in all things and tells us about ourselves. It is up to us to see God in all things. There is nothing that is concealed from him. Believe that when you are awaken every morning, it is intentional. With new mercies, God is calling your name.
Our names are known by him. He called to Adam when he ate the forbidden fruit. He called Cain when he had killed his brother Abel. He called to Samuel to be a prophet for Israel. Jonah tried to hide to avoid witnesses to the Ninevites, but God knew where to find him. They all were accountable to him and yes we are accountable to him. Our very breathe belongs to him. Without it there will be no life. He has redeemed us and calls us his own. “But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.”
Our relationship with God is different when we believe and accept salvation in Jesus Christ. We confess belief in his death and resurrection. The redemption plan of Christ makes us his property. There is so much in a name, especially in the name Jesus Christ. In him, is our eternal relationship with the our heavenly Father. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” He calls our name in love and mercy. We call his name for the saving of our souls.
