Sermon Take Away: “Faith Living”

Romans 10:9-17 ; Hebrews 11:1-6

Faith living is how we live. It is the rooted belief that God is our Father, Jesus Christ is our Savior and the Holy Spirit is our Comforter. It is not what we do, but it is Jesus who is our guarantee to make it to heaven. In him we do have the victory.

We are saved by grace, brought with the blood of Jesus Christ. He died knowing that the people he came to save would reject him. But it did not matter. God loves us all and made a way for all who will believe. Faith living is what God can do, not what we can do. “That if thou confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” The verse itself does not save. This word becomes meaningful in faith. It is in the heart that we believe and love the Lord. Jesus came in the flesh to experience how we feel. In acceptance of the word of God, there is a change that overcomes us. If there is no change, then we would be just going through the motions. Reciting the scriptures, chanting the name of Jesus, but not connected to him. Many look for a feeling. But salvation comes in belief. There is no miraculous feelings. Salvation happens with a humble surrender to God, acted upon the word. Faith and feeling are two different things. Faith is hope of something that you do not have, such as to make it to heaven. Feelings are emotional and are not consistent.

“Faith is the substance of things hope and the evidence of things not seen.” In faith living, we must be confident of what Jesus can do. In him only, will there be a change that will make us see and understand the power of his death and resurrection. From the foundation of the world we must believe that our name was written in the book of life. If you believe the right things, you can be saved. There is no different in man. God is rich unto all. Jesus died for all. He is the only way to make it to heaven. Faith living is walking in the salvation of Jesus Christ. Faith living is how we relate to our Savior, Jesus Christ.
