Scriptures: Hebrews 11:1-6, 39-40, Genesis 4:1-4, Luke 21:1-4, Romans 12:1,2, Matthew 22:37, Genesis 6:6, 5:21-24, Ephesians 4:22-24, 5:1-2
In today’s Word of God we touched on faith and what defines faith. The Word says “Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen.” Hope is the vision we have for the future and our own futures, but faith is the belief that our vision will come to pass. That it will happen in the name and the power of Jesus Christ.
In order to have faith we must believe in God, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We must believe with our whole hearts that God created us and earth and that he is mighty and always in control. So, our faith do come in different kinds, but they always point to Jesus.
Hebrews gives us a great message of and about faith through the anointed people in the King James Bible. It begins with Abel and his Faith of Sacrifice, meaning he gave his best to God by planning and giving the first born calf as an offering to God. We as believers in Jesus must give God our best in everything we do for the Lord.
Then it spoke of Enoch who walked with the Lord daily and in return God blessed him by not allowing him to see death. Enoch had Faith of Walking With God. Like him, we must focus on strengthening our relationship with God. We must put away the old person (our past of walking in sin) and put on the new person (a new life living in Jesus).
Remember it is impossible to please God if we do not give our entire selves to the Lord and believe and trust in him always. The Word says God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him.
