Exodus 3:11-15; Psalm 50:7
The earth is the creation of the Almighty God. For years many search for him, questioning his existence. By just looking up at the endless blue sky, we know that he is present. He made clear to Moses that he is in full authority of things.
Moses, the prophet of God, was called to deliver thousands of Hebrews out of the Egyptians bondage. They had been in the suppression of slavery for 400 years. God heard their cry and the time had come for their deliverance. Moses was tending to the flock of Jethro his father-in-law when an angel of the Lord appeared unto him. God spoke to Moses and gave him the command to go to Pharoah and bring his people out of Egypt. The people were great and would question what is the name of God. Moses was told to say “I Am have sent me unto you.” God had spoken.
The name “I Am” reveals his sovereignty, power, authority and presence. It reveals that he is absolute. I Am tells us that no more questions about his identity is needed. He is omnipotent, he is all powerful. He is omniscient, he knows all things. He is omnipresent, he is everywhere at the same time.
When God speaks we must listen. He is the giver of mercy, grace and forgiveness. He is the epitome of love. Thousand of years later, Jesus Christ his son was born to save the world from sins. Being the son of God in the flesh, he proclaimed the same powerful message to his followers that he was I Am. It is through Christ that the gift of salvation is given to whomsoever will seek for the pardon of sin, repent, and a new life in the spirit of God. “Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against thee: I am God, even thy God.”
Jesus said I am the bread of life, I am the light of the world, I am the door, I am the good shepherd, I am the resurrection and the life, I am the way, the truth and the life, and I am the true vine. In every way, he is our every thing. We need him in every fragment of our life. At his second coming, he shall gather his people for eternal life.
God has spoken continues to resonate in our lives everyday. In prayer, meditation, and the reading of his word, the Holy Spirit reveals that God is in charge of all things. Ask God to give you his understanding about who he is. There is none other like unto him. Our God the father is the I Am. He has spoken. Alleluia!
