Sermon Take Away: He Hears You

Scripture: I John 5:13,14; Matthew 7:7; I Peter 3:12

Thank God for Jesus. He is worthy of continuous praise: for he is God. In Jesus, we are saved from sins and given the gift of eternal life. We are inspires to keep them in the depths of our hearts. In addition to praises, we are a praying people. We pray all the time. It is our way to express honor and the need of God. Prayer is in response to faith that he hears you.

David remembered that God hears him. His love and devotion to God kept him in earnest prayer and praise. He knew that God does not go anywhere. He is on his throne. First, before you pray, you must believe in the Son of God. God gave us his Son, Jesus Christ to save us from sin. The only way to have a relationship with God is through his Son. Sin separates us from him. Jesus became our mediator to bring forgiveness that we need in the presence of God. The acceptance of his presence is faith in action.

Many deny Jesus Christ. But we need Jesus to reach God. It is only him Christ we become worthy of God. Once you accept Jesus, your name is written in the book of life. But if you later forsake him, your name is erased from the book of life. “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us…” Confidence means to have unquestionable knowledge. Its an assurance that comes from being persuaded that God is the Almighty and that he controls the earth. There is nothing to small or great. Being a believer does not relieve us from problems. Problems are how we grow in the grace of God, trusting in him to solve the problems. Not relying in self, but total dependence is in him. The elders in the old testament trusted in his will. In turn, they worshipped him. Keep confidence that he hears us when we call.

“Ask and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” This compels us to remain patience, yet persistent in prayer. Confidence is strengthen in present challenging times, as we remain determined in the never-ending power of Jesus. We are steadfast in the confidence that he hears us.

“For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers.” He cares for you. “But the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.” God has no pleasure in those who deny his will. When you pray, you are in position for the Spirit of the Lord to work in your life.
