Daniel Chapter 4; Romans 5:8
The word of God tells us who we are and who we can become. We were born sinners. But we can die a righteous person in Christ Jesus. We are nothing without God, the Creator of life and all living creatures. He alone is great!
In the book of Daniel, there was a heathen king of Babylon name Nebuchadnezzar. Even though he was advised by Daniel the Prophet, he remained full of pride and denied the presence of God. As a result, he was driven in the wilderness and ate grass as oxen. His body was wet with the dew of heaven, his hairs were grown like eagles feathers and his nails like birds claws. He became an animal and lost his position as king for seven years.
God will get our attention. He wants us to love him and to be saved. The king was given another chance. After the seven years, he gave one of the most life-changing testimonies. He gave reverence God. “Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, all whose words are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.”
It is God that gives us the breathe of life. It is He that has made the way for our salvation, not we ourselves. At any time, we can lose what we have. More importantly, we can lose our soul to eternal death. “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” We must become humble and submissive to the love of God. We must give him the glory and honor, keep him first in our lives. There is none greater. Find your complete peace in him and let him know “How Great Thou Art”.
