II Corinthians 12:9
Praise God for his wondrous unconditional love given in the life of his son Jesus Christ. We could never repay him for becoming the sacrificial lamb for the sins of the world. But one thing that we can do is to surrender our life to him. He gave his perfect life for our sinful life.
The Apostle Paul dealt with many issues that we have today. He experienced them in the lives of the church and and he wrote epistles to encourage them in the faith. He had a thorn that he requested for God to remove. But Jesus had something greater for Paul to embrace. He told him, “My grace is sufficient for thee”. Grace is God’s unmerited favor. It is his empowerment to live in his will. “For my strength is made perfect in weakness.” What a powerful word for the Apostle and the church today.
As much as we may think that we can accomplish things on our own, we all have a degree of weakness. Weakness is the lack of ability. It is not a bad thing. In Christ, he alone gives us the strength in times of weakness. In other word, there is no challenge that we cannot overcome, if we fully rely on his strength. In your plans, put Christ first.
Jesus wants us to know how we can overcome all things by his strength. We must realize our weakness and that Christ alone will give us what we need in any given situation. If you are waiting for a physical healing, in his strength you can still maintain in a reasonable portion of strength. In other words your physical aliment, will not hinder because you are relying on Jesus. If you need unity in your family, in the strength of Jesus division can be turned into unity.
“I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.”, is a personal belief of faith to rely on the perfect strength of Christ, who is able to do all things. In him there is no weakness, there is no limit. Surrender means to turn things over, let things loose, while trusting in the perfect strength of Jesus Christ.
