Sermon Take Away: “Jesus, My Everything”

Exodus 3:14; John 6:36

Just before Moses was sent to deliver the Israelites from Egyptian bondage, he asked God who should he tell the people who sent him. God responded with, “I AM THAT I AM.” His name tell us so much about him. He is all-loving, all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-forgiving. He is absolute. He is complete in himself. Some 1400-1500 years later, Jesus was in the ministry and testified that He and the Father are one. He taught that he was the “I AM”.

Jesus is our everything. Our life in the present and in the eternal depends on our faith in him as our Lord and Savior. As he taught a series of I AM, he used familiar elements or materials to identify himself as the sole provider of our needs. He is sufficient to fulfill all things. Jesus is the bread of life: sustains our physical being and strengthens our spirit. He is the light of the world: exposes the darkness of sin. He is the door: opens the way to salvation. He is the resurrection and the life: power to save and give eternal life. He is the good shepherd: keeps us in the will of the Father and protect us from the false shepherds that will destroy. He is the way, the truth and the life: through him we make it to heaven, we receive the word of God and we have the source of physical and spiritual life. He is the true vine: the active agent which keeps us connected to the Father.

We are so blessed to have the presence of God and to experience his mighty handiworks. To attempt to find anything or anyone outside of Christ, will be complete failure. The Father sent him to the earth to die for the sins of the world to fulfill everything that we need. When in doubt about who Jesus is and what he will do for you, give him a try. You will find that he is your everything.

May the peace and love of God be with you and your families.
