Sermon Take Away: Patience in Trouble

Scriptures: Revelation 14:12, Exodus 20, Matthew 5:17-20, Matthew 22:36-40, Roman’s 10:13-15

In Revelation 14:12, Jesus is telling us that there will be a time when the people of God and followers of Jesus will be persecuted, shamed, and questioned because of their faith. There will be a time when we won’t be able to come together to worship because the spotlight will be on us. So we must have patience in the time of trouble.

So what is patience? Patience is to endore and to hold fast to your prayers and faith that Jesus will answer.

The saints mentioned in this verse refers to those who are righteous, who have a deep and close relationship with God, and are called the children of God. Only these saints will be uniquely covered by God during the time of trouble.

The saints are also identified as those who keep the commandments of God. The 10 commandments were given to the Israelites by God writing it on stone with his finger. Commandments mean laws, statutes, orders mandated by a high authority. In this case, God is the one we are supposed to obey. Not man.

Jesus said that he came to fulfill the law not to destroy it. So the 10 Commandments still stand and are broken down into two parts. Love God and love others as mentioned in Matthew 22:36-40.

And last but not least, the saints will be identified by their faith in Jesus Christ. Towards the very end of life on earth, your faith and belief will matter. Whether you believe in Jesus or not, you are being judged right now and when Jesus return, you will receive your due reward. Either Eternal Life or Eternal Death.

Keep on working on your faith and your life in Jesus and never give up. Be patient and wait on the Lord. He hears your every cry and will answer.
