Ephesians 1:1-7; 2:8; Acts 20:28; Hebrews 9:11-22
God in his authority ordained the course in the birth, death, and resurrection of his only begotten son for our redemption. Redemption was made with the purchase of the blood of Jesus Christ. It is through him we are saved. Christ came down from heaven, born into this world to save us. Yes, our life has value. “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.”
There is so much missing in the world today. The importance and value of life has been distorted because of sin. No one has the right to take life, not even his own. It must be told that God is the giver of life. Jesus is the head of man. He paid a debt for our lives that we cannot pay. He paid a debt that he did not owe, so that we can be made free. He took on our unrighteousness. In turn, through grace we obtain his righteousness. This is how our life has value.
The ceremonial laws given to Moses and the Levites were commanded by God for the atonement for sins. These laws were “our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith”. To understand the magnitude of the death of Christ, his unselfish sacrifice, will defeat the evil powers that work against the love of life. It is only in our life that we can accept salvation. It is only in our life that we can align our lives to be in harmony with God’s will. This is the importance and power of redemption, “which he hath purchased with is own blood”.
In redemption, grace much more abounded. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God….” The sin of Adam brought condemnation. But thank God, the love of Christ gave us justification. We now have the forgiveness of God and the promise of an eternal life all because of redemption and the value of our life. Tell someone that their life has value. They are loved by God in Jesus Christ.
