Scripture: Acts 3:1-10
The magnitude of God’s love came in the person of Jesus Christ. Man needed an everlasting redemption to have eternal peace, love, and joy in the splendor of heaven. The sacrificial systems that were established in the Old Testament were sanction for that time. But our omniscient God had a much better plan for man.
The life of Christ remans one of the most interesting and inspiring stories. How can one man save the whole world? Only by the power of his Father. The same Father, who created all things. Jesus was born, he was crucified and he rose on the first day the week. His birth and death were taught by the prophets. His arrival among his people was greatly anticipated.
The Apostles Peter and John were given the charge to teach the gospel of salvation. The gospel is the good news of Jesus Christ. They traveled throughout, in their anointed power, teaching men and women about Christ, our need for salvation. While approaching the gate of the temple, which was called Beautiful, there was a lame man. He was lame from birth. He laid at the gate daily asking for alms. He needed the necessities of life. Peter and John commanded him to look at them. They could discern his real need. Imagine nothing but the love of Christ in their eyes. Upon doing so, they said “Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk”.
In Jesus Christ we have all things. The Apostles gave the lame man something of far more value. Whatever alms he received from day to day were gone. But salvation in Christ is eternal. The man was healed, “immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength”. He walked and entered in the temple with the Apostles.
When the lame man was given Jesus, his soul was saved. God gave Jesus all power in heaven, in earth, and under the earth. He knows all things and can do all things. The Apostles knew what the lame man needed most. When we receive Christ in our life, we have a Savior who will forgive us for our sins. He is willingly to help us to turn our life around. Only in Christ, can we be cleanse and have a new life. When we call on the name of Jesus, we will leap for joy because in him we are worthy for his salvation.
