Habakkuk 3:17-19; Nehemiah 8:4-10
The word of God speaks hope to our soul. It is so powerful that it will go to the very core of our conscience. As the spiritual leaders in Israel, proclaimed to the people “The Lord is your strength”, they were encouraged to hear the law of God. His supernatural strength is the power and might to overcome and move forward. It is given by God alone.
As the Prophet Habakkuk was closing his prayer song, he mentioned that though the fig tree, the vine, the olive and the fold fail, yet will the Lord God remain his strength. We can depend on the God. He makes all things possible.
In the book of Nehemiah, when the people were called to assemble for worship, Nehemiah, Ezra and the Levites read the word distinctly and gave them understanding. Israel had just come out of seventy years of bondage and had to rebuild their city. The conditions were enough to make them discourage. But Nehemiah stated that is was not a time of sorrow for “the joy of the Lord is your strength“. Joy of the Lord is to know that he is able and that he is a constant at anytime in our life. His joy is the supernatural power which enables us to overcome all obstacles.
Our joy will remain steadfast, as we believe and embrace the promises of God. When all else fail, God will never fail, leave nor forsake us. His strength uplifts our joy. Keep your trust in him, who remains unmovable. If nobody tells you, you repeat to yourself, “The Lord God is my strength.”
