Scripture: Psalms 121 and 27; Gospel of Matthew 7:7; II Corinthians 4:8,9
The psalms is an expression of devoted faith in God. “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help.” When we are lifted up, our frame of mind will give us a positive spirit. Our hope is in the will of God. When we look down, it is a sign of doubtful thoughts, which led to discouragement. To look unto God is to acknowledge his presence and his power of all things. He is our keeper, who is always present. Wherever we go, we can communicate to him. Always give God credit for all things.
Jesus commands us to ask, knock, and seek. Ask in faith knowing that God is able. Seek for his responses to your prayers and knock in persistent belief in him. The scriptures are given that we may know the power of God. “He will not slumber. Behold Israel, he neither slumber nor sleep.” He is always aware of you. The sun nor the moon, the big things can’t harm us. We are assured that the little things can’t smite us either.
Stay uplifted and positive. Follow the command of Paul and wear the whole armor of God. There is a struggle against principalities and spiritual wickedness in high places. Believers carrying the light that shows people how to behave, how to love and how to have compassion. His spirit lives in us. Thank him for your joy. There will be some difficult days. But because we know who is our keeper, we know that he will never leave nor forsake us. Don’t worry about that evil, just rebuke it in the name of Jesus. Jesus will do it all.
In the family of God, there is protection. David understood the omnipresence of God. “Whom shall I fear? When the Lord is my keeper. He has power of good and evil. “The Lord is the strength of my life. “ In the morning, he renews our spirit. “Whom shall I be afraid?” No need to feel unwanted anxieties.
Looking to our Keeper, we can recall the teachings in II Corinthians 4:8-9.
Trouble is all the things that attack us. Yet not distressed, not to overly worry.
Perplexed is to have uncertainties. Yet not in despair, hope is not lost.
Persecuted is to be unfairly treated. Yet not forsaken, never alone in Christ.
Cast down are times of rejection or discouragement. Yet not destroyed, never lost in the salvation of God.
Jesus wanted to be among the wonderful people of God. He experienced the pain and the sufferings through the lives of the demon possessed, lame, blind, poor, self-righteous and the such. He continues to see our every need. Thank God for Jesus.
Find encouragement in your favorite scriptures. Keep your head lifted up. We have the victory in Jesus Christ.
