Sermon Take Away: “What More Do You Want Jesus to Do?”

Jesus Christ has given us everything. He has given us the blessing to call on him all the time! He can’t do know more than he has done to save us. “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for a friend.” His cross is an emblem of his love. It is now our turn to believe and accept him as our Savior. This is what we can do for him.

To present our body as a living sacrifice to God is our reasonable service. We are not to be conformed to the world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. Transformation is a life experience to get rid of those things that are not Christ-like to take on his character. Our minds and hearts are dedicated to his will and purpose. The world focus is carnal, on what can be seen. The church focus is spiritual, on the powers from God above. He has given us his Holy Spirit to reveal the things that we do not see or understand. It is not something that is obtained on our own.

His attention is given to us every morning. “It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, they are new every morning…” Give him unwavering praise and devotion to his word. Don’t take salvation for granted. To know him is to draw nearer to him.

Jesus does not want our earthly possessions. He wants us to do justly, love mercy, and to walk humble with God. Do that which is morally fair, don’t take mercy for granted, and remember your constant need for him. Rejoice and give him thanks! In giving him thanks, there is an immediate flow of faith in action. We owe him so much. Today, can be your day to give what matters to him, your life. That’s what you can do for him.
