Amos 3:3; Ephesians 4:11-13
The mission of the ministry is to teach that salvation and eternal life are in Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. Sometimes the mission can get a little fuzzy and not presented in unity from believers. It is important to rely on the word of God to provide the directions. “Can two walk together except they be agreed?” Jesus said to the let the wheat and the tares grow together. It is hoped that the denominations of believers will unite in the word of the God. For there is only one truth and it is found in Jesus Christ.
To work in the ministry, Jesus must be the foundation. Following his examples of love and compassion is paramount in the ministry. The faith community of Muslims, Sabbath Keepers and Sunday believers is divided on God’s ordained day of rest. All can still work together to grow in the understanding of the word to do what is required of man, “The Lord requires that we do justly, love mercy and walk humbly before him”. Jesus will do the separations of those who follow him when he returns.
One accord is in agreement with the right ingredients. The premix package is God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We become our worse enemy, in obeying his commandments. We must keep the right attitude to love God and our neighbor. To obey the seventh day Sabbath is a command from God, but it does not guarantee us heaven.
Ministry must give the right reason to come to church, “For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ. ” This is the purpose of those who are called into the ministry. Be confident in what Christ will do, not what we will do. Perfection in Jesus is to be obedient to the word. Denominations bring on divisions in ministry.
It is stressed that working together in the ministry requires that we start at the foundation of faith, which is Jesus Christ. The ministry is not about denominations. If we start with self and our ideas that will take us away from scriptures. Bring the light of the life to church and people will be motivated to the cross of Christ, which is salvation. To perfect the ministry we must believe what we read. Speak the truth in love. Truth will draw or push away. The word will not return void. Somebody will saved.
We who are called must do our part. The first century church, kept the Sabbath and had power because they were on one accord. The church community was not divided into denominations. They studied, taught, and preached from the same word. They did not compromise and even remain faithful in time of the church persecution. Many people were saved and the gospel of Christ continues.
