Sermon Take Away: “Worthy Is The Lamb”

Revelation 4&5

God the Father has given us everything in our Savior Jesus Christ. He made Christ the center of every fragment in our life. Without him, we cannot go to the Father. “No man cometh to the Father but by me.” God and the Son are worthy of all reverence, praise, glory, and love. The book of Revelation consist of end-time prophecies that will occur just before the second coming of Christ. Before we get to all the literal and symbolism of this most important bible chapter, the Apostle John witnessed the heavenly host give praises to God and the Son.

In heaven, there was a question among the heavenly host as to who was worthy to open the book with the seals. The Lamb that was slain was the only one worthy to open the book. “Worthy is the Lamb that was slain.” Christ was the sacrificial lamb for the remission of our sins. He withstood the pain, the false accusations, the physical and verbal abuse and the neglect of his own people to save the world from sin. Being from the very foundation of the earth, he with the Father, knew that humanity would not survive the evil that will plagued the world by the falling angel Lucifer. Their love for man is far to great. The plan to save came into effect as far back as the garden of Eden. “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shall bruise his heel.”

When Christ ascended into heaven, God the Father gave him all power in heaven, earth and under the earth. Christ has authority and power of all things. He is actively presenting our case us before the Father, making us worthy of forgiveness and all of the benefits that are in the power of salvation.

The adoration of the heavenly host toward the Lamb that was slain is such a praise worthy message of Christ being the center of all things. “Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessings.” Just before he reveals the most disturbing events to occur in this world, we are reminded that he has the power.
